OMEGA 310.32.40.50.06.002 Automatic Movement Stainless Steel Case Sapphire Crystal Water Resistant

Product Description
On October 3, 1962, astronaut Walter Schirra wore his own watch during the Mercury program's Sigma 7 mission. Thus, the "Speedmaster CK 2998" became the first Omega watch to go into space. This updated model pays tribute to the pioneering timepiece that went to space, modernizing the style of the same second-generation "Speedmaster." It features a polished and brushed stainless steel case with a diameter of 39.70mm, paired with a brown leather strap that has a stainless steel buckle. The black aluminum bezel ring is adorned with the legendary tachymetric scale, including the iconic "Dot Over 90." The gray-blue dial, visible under the new hesalite-like sapphire crystal, is coated with CVD to replicate the tone of the "CK 2998" watch produced in the 1960s. In addition to the indices and "Alpha" style hour and minute hands coated with vintage Super-LumiNova, the baton-style central chronograph second hand is finished with white lacquer that matches the transferred markings. It features sub-dials for a 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock, a 12-hour counter at 6 o'clock, and a small seconds display at 9 o'clock. The dial and crown are adorned with a vintage Omega logo, and the case back features the famous Seahorse medallion, along with engravings of "THE FIRST OMEGA IN SPACE" and "OCTOBER 3, 1962." It is powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Caliber 3861, an updated version of the Caliber 321 that went to space with the astronauts. This watch comes in a special box along with a leaflet titled "LEGENDARY MOONWATCH."
