| With a deep connection to the ocean in mind, Omega launched the "Planet Ocean" collection in 2005. This stylish collection rightfully inherits the DNA of diver's watches that Omega has built over the years. It features scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass. The dial is made of grade 5 titanium with a sandblasted finish. It has Arabic numeral displays and a date window at the 3 o'clock position. The dial includes a small seconds sub-dial and a 60-minute and 12-hour counter for easy reading of elapsed time. The 45.5 mm case made of grade 5 titanium comes with a bezel made of gray silicon nitride ceramic bonded with orange rubber using a world-first technology. The diving scale on the bezel is made of liquid metal. It also features a screw-in case back with a wave pattern, and a gray patterned rubber strap with orange stitching and lining. It has a water resistance of 60 atmospheres (600m/2000 feet) and includes a helium escape valve. At the heart of this timepiece is the Omega Master Chronometer Caliber 9900, which can be viewed through the transparent case back. This watch has passed eight rigorous tests set by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) and is certified as a Master Chronometer. | |
