Since its development request and official adoption by the U.S. Navy SEALs, Luminox has begun supplying military, police, fire, and rescue organizations worldwide. In 2018, Luminox established a partnership with the Icelandic Search and Rescue Team (ICE-SAR), which conducts exploration and rescue missions in Iceland, and developed models specialized for rescue operations. Iceland is known for its harsh terrain, surrounded by glaciers and characterized by extreme climates, including blizzards and midnight sun. Due to frequent natural disasters such as avalanches, ICE-SAR was established as a volunteer organization dedicated to saving lives. The new ICE-SAR ARCTIC 1050 SERIES features a pulse meter designed to allow quick measurement of heart rate, a crucial factor in rescue operations, using a long second hand and indices marked on the inner ring of the dial that do not require 60 seconds for measurement. The case and bezel are made of CARBONOX, which offers lightweight strength, shock resistance, and a water resistance of 200 meters, making it suitable for demanding rescue missions. To ensure visibility in the dark, the LLT utilizes a combination of green and orange that provides high visibility on land, while Super-LumiNova is applied to the indices and the '6' and '12' for enhanced visibility in darkness.
