The stainless steel case has been styled more elegantly, and with Citizen's unique surface hardening technology, Duratect, it serves as an accent to the case design while protecting the watch from minor scratches. To achieve the "thinness," "strength," and "beauty" of the Eco-Drive One, a new material called "sarmet," which satisfies the opposing elements of "thinness" and "strength," has been adopted for the bezel.
