| Since its release in 1983, the tough watch G-SHOCK has continued to evolve in pursuit of unyielding strength. This model is designed with the motif of the 'Ninja', a mysterious figure known for their exceptional martial arts skills and special powers, widely recognized even overseas. The spirit of NEVER GIVE UP, which is the identity of G-SHOCK, links with the image of ninjas who once served powerful generals and daimyos, engaging in various activities with toughness, thus adopting the ninja motif. It features the classic digital DW-5600. This time, inspired by the ninjutsu known as Suiton, which involves escaping or infiltrating by submerging in ponds, rivers, or moats, the design incorporates elements of the shuriken, a projectile said to be used by ninjas, into the dial, backlight, buckle, and case back. The navy skeleton bezel is inspired by underwater imagery. The band features a lattice pattern hot-stamped to resemble chainmail. Additionally, in homage to the ninjas born in Japan, we have focused on being made in Japan. The basic method involves using a bamboo tube with nodes removed as a snorkel to breathe, but according to one theory, using the scabbard of a ninja sword (removing the tip) allowed for deeper submersion. | |
