Exceeding ISO standards for shock-resistant watches, its high shock resistance can withstand impacts from intense sports as well as continuous vibrations from chainsaws and rock drills, transforming the lifestyles of people around the world at that time and establishing a new genre of wristwatches known as "tough watches."
In addition to its high functionality, its distinctive form has been recognized, and in 2023, it was registered as a three-dimensional trademark for wristwatches by the Japan Patent Office.

The masterpiece that marks its name in watch history, the "First Generation G-SHOCK," has been reissued, faithfully reproducing the original design.
Over 40 years since the brand's inception, G-SHOCK has continuously evolved and launched many models.
This model is a special edition that revives the design embodying the will and expectations for the future contained in the original model, using the technology that current G-SHOCK possesses.
The case is made of stainless steel, just like the original, and the band replicates the length, shape, and position of the dimples of the original model.
Returning to its original intention after 40 years, it expresses G-SHOCK's determination to pave the way for the future.
On the other hand, the materials for the bezel and band use biomass plastic, contributing to reduced environmental impact.
An LED backlight is adopted to enhance visibility.
The case size has been increased from the original model's 41.6mm to a modern 42.3mm.

The bezel is carefully reproduced to match the original model.
The areas on the bezel with the words "PROTECTION" and "G-SHOCK" are flat, faithfully reproducing the original model.

The face design features red, blue, and yellow accents.
The red color, representing G-SHOCK's brand color and passion for continuous challenges, the blue color symbolizing high water resistance, and the yellow color meaning shock resistance, are all faithfully reproduced as seen in the original model.
Additionally, a brick pattern that evokes a sense of robustness has been adopted.

The layout of the markings on the screw-back case and the dynamic "Shock Resistant" inscription also evoke the original model, with the design being inherited down to the finest details.
