| Since its release in 1983, the tough watch G-SHOCK has continued to evolve in pursuit of unyielding strength. This model is designed with the "red lantern," a symbol of Japanese tavern culture, as its design motif. The red lantern is said to have originated in the Edo period when taverns painted their originally white lanterns red to attract customers. Eventually, this became common, and it has been elevated as a unique Japanese culture that brings warmth and vibrancy to people's hearts as a symbol of places where they can casually enjoy drinks and meals after work. This time, we have infused that warmth into G-SHOCK as a Made in Japan model. With red as the base color of the lantern, the unique design features the characteristic "shock-resistant" print in a distinctive font from the bezel to the band. The buttons and loops are inspired by the colors of the backlight and handle, packed with the features of the red lantern into G-SHOCK. The motif of the lantern is also engraved on the case back, and the packaging boldly features the red lantern that glows in the dark, making it a special edition. * The main resin parts of the bezel and band use biomass plastic. It is expected to contribute to reducing environmental impact by using renewable organic resources as raw materials. | |
