Breitling aimed for a straightforward diver's watch that eliminated everything except the functions necessary for life-saving underwater. This simple watch was named the Superocean Slow Motion. It maximized legibility with its clean lines, thick, luminescent-coated indices, square hands, and high-contrast dial ring. It was an extremely practical watch. However, it was loved for its appearance. The Superocean Super Diver retains the design codes of the popular Slow Motion, while adding modern features such as a scratch-resistant matte ceramic inlay bezel and camouflage-colored dials. The wide hands and indices are coated with Super-LumiNova® for easy reading underwater. The watch is water-resistant to 1,000m and is also resistant to shocks, sand, and salt water. Furthermore, it is equipped with features that are not immediately noticeable. A soft iron inner case protects the movement from the effects of magnetic fields, and a lock on the left side of the case securely fixes the bidirectional rotating bezel. The straps are available in rubber and titanium bracelet options. Both feature a folding clasp that allows for micro-adjustments of up to 15 mm, making it easy to wear over a rash guard or wetsuit.
