| Performance and style suited for any activity in the water. In the 1960s, the new sport of scuba diving was all the rage. For divers, timing is everything. Breitling aimed to create an easy-to-read diver's watch, eliminating everything except the functions necessary for saving lives underwater. This watch, streamlined to its essentials, was named the Slow Motion. Retaining the clean lines, thick luminescent indexes, square hands, and contrasting dial ring, visibility is maximized. You could say it was practical. However, it was the look that was so beloved. The new Superocean follows the design codes of the popular Slow Motion, while adding modern features such as a ceramic inlay bezel and vividly colored dials. The wide hands and indexes are coated with Super-LumiNova® for easy readability underwater. The watch is water-resistant to 300m and is also resistant to shocks, sand, and salt water. The bronze version uses a special alloy with excellent corrosion resistance, but over time a subtle patina develops, giving the watch a unique character. Straps are available in rubber and metal bracelet options, both with a folding clasp that allows for fine adjustments of up to 15mm, making it easy to wear over a rash guard or wetsuit. The scratch-resistant ceramic inlay bezel will not wear or fade. For safety, the bezel is unidirectional on most sizes, and a patented bidirectional rotating bezel with lock is featured on the 46mm size. Above all, this watch is no longer just a diver's watch.
