Breitling aimed for an easy-to-read diver's watch that eliminated everything but the functions necessary for saving lives underwater. This simplified watch was named the Superocean Slow Motion. Its clean lines, thick luminescent indexes, square hands, and contrasting dial ring maximized visibility. It was a very practical watch. Nevertheless, it was especially loved for its appearance. The new Superocean follows the design codes of the popular Slow Motion while adding modern features such as a scratch-resistant ceramic-inlay bezel and brightly colored dials. The wide hands and indexes are coated with Super-LumiNova® luminescent material in a rainbow gradient for easy reading even underwater. The watch is water-resistant to 300 m and is also resistant to shocks, sand, and salt water. The bronze version uses a special alloy that is highly resistant to corrosion but develops a subtle patina over time, giving it a unique character. The rubber strap has a folding clasp and can be micro-adjusted by up to 15 mm, making it easy to wear over a rash guard or wetsuit. For safety, the bezel is unidirectional. And above all, this watch has evolved beyond a mere diver's watch to become a watch perfect for surfing, swimming, beach bars, or dinner.
